What are we learning from lockdown
Hey guys, I am back with a new blog and this comes after experiencing 3 weeks of lockdown in the UK. I want to share with you guys some of the things I have read online and want to make a list of some of the things we are learning from lockdown and make a prediction of how long I think lockdown should go on for and how long I think it will actually go on for. I would also love to know what you’ve learned from lockdown and I’d also love to know how long you think it will go on for too. Let’s get right into the blog.
How long will it last?
Even the optimism in me is thinking we will be in lockdown till mid-May at the very earliest and that’s if the curve begins to flatten this week or next week. A lot of predictions made before lockdown pointed towards this week being the worst during the pandemic so if this is true then some relaxation of lockdown could easily take place in a month’s time. However, I actually think we will be brought out of lockdown by the UK government earlier than I am hoping for due to how the Tories operate in a normal situation. They have a very profit before people stance and with how the UK economy is set to be affected I see them rushing us out in order to save money on bailouts and creating more new jobs lost because of the pandemic.
What are we learning?
Here’s a list of what I’ve spotted so far online and what I think we’ve learned:
- The UK government strategy for handling this has been awful
- The death total is far higher than we know
- People are far nosier than we know
- Mental health issues are far more common than some people think
- There are more key workers out there than first known
- This virus doesn’t discriminate
- People judge others too quickly
- Staying at home isn’t that easy
- Businesses will suffer massively because of this
- People panic buy way too much
- We can only guess how long this will last
- The majority of people actually follow the rules really well
- Not all police are good
- There are nowhere near enough police officers or NHS staff anywhere in the UK
- The things that seem simple to you aren’t simple for everyone
Here’s my list guys and I’d love to see what you have to add to it too. Thank you for reading. Stay safe and thank you for your support.

I am actually quite impressed with the handling of this situation by the government here in Canada. It’s far from perfect, there are many things that could be improved upon. I’m also not a fan of our leaders from a political front… but I can’t deny that they’ve stepped up in terms of COVID-19 and how to protect the population both healthwise and financially (for the most part).

I think lockdown could end in May hopefully but I have seen so many posts that it will end in May and then a year which is no because of the economy. I’ve just read about kids going back to school on 1st June.
The kids going back to school will be different that normal saying social distancing will apply in schools and could see smaller classes
I agree with the mental health issues are far more common than some people think and read about a teenager couldn’t cope with lockdown and it said he had no mental health issues.

I’d love it to end in May as my birthday is the 30th haha. Yeah a lot of people who had no previous issues with their mental health have struggled during this
