Blog Comments: Good Practices

Hey guys, I am back with another blog and this one is about blogging comments and what you guys can do as readers in order to help bloggers out when it comes to making improvements and realising what content their readers enjoy the most. I will go on to discuss what comments on blogs can do for the blogger and discuss what things you can do in order to shape and construct the perfect comments for the bloggers who you take an interest in and spend time reading their posts. Let’s get right into the blog.

The first thing to always make sure of when you comment is to actually give proper feedback. Saying “great post” or “I loved this post” may seem like a big compliment to any reader but in actual fact, it doesn’t help a blogger in any way, shape or form. Always say why you loved the blog or why you didn’t feel as interested and entertained by a post as this will provide much more effective feedback. Bloggers are always looking for feedback and their readers are the best way for that to happen. You guys create the next level for bloggers so get feedback to them as much as possible whenever they post new content.

The next thing is to make sure you’ve spent time reading the blog before you comment on it. I know this sounds daft but bloggers are smart enough to know when someone has quickly glanced at a blog and comment with something very generic. We would rather have no views than half-arsed ones from people who rush it.

The next thing in regards to commenting is to make sure you aren’t just being nasty. If you find that the blog wasn’t as good as it could have been then you should use constructive criticism in order to help a blogger. Comments that are just full of hate are genuinely not worth it and will be ignored or even just trashed straight away.

My final thing is that commenting on blogs is way more helpful if you do on more than one post especially if the topics that the blogger has written about have nothing in common. Suggesting that you like certain types of a topic to bloggers is always useful because if they enjoy writing about a certain niche then they will tend to do it more as their readers enjoy it more.

This has been my blog guys. I hope my advice helps you think about things from a blogger’s perspective. I would love to thank you for reading and supporting my blog guys. Have a great day.

  1. Great post!! Haha sorry had to say that. I found this post helpful – not often does blogging advice include the comment section. Interesting points raised here which I will consider next time I’m commenting – which is now 😊

    1. Thank you so much 😊 Glad I can help. Learning how to construct comments takes a lot of time and I’m the worst at holding conversations so I know the struggle

  2. This is really helpful for new bloggers like me who want to know the best way to support other bloggers. I usually just comment I loved it or great post, but I totally take on board what you’ve said and will make the effort to be more specific about what I particularly enjoyed
